Bio:

Chandrasekhar has a unique combination of his wide and varied experience in both Information Technology and Government. Of his total experience of 30 plus years, he has spent 15 years in the Government of India as a bureaucrat, which also included a stint in Singapore as a diplomat. After resigning from the Government he worked for IT bigwigs like TCS, IBM and HCL. He was also the Principal Consultant to the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, responsible for the rollout of Government of India’s Rs 1200 crores (USD 200 Mn) Mission Mode Passport Seva Project.

He has had a 360 degree view of IT in Government as well as exposure to the entire sales and project life cycles. He has dealt with IT as a procurer in Govt of India, as an OEM (IBM), as a System Integrator (TCS) and as a Vertical Delivery Head (HCL). Currently (since Oct 2012) he is Group Director Government Affairs with Microsoft India and his role involves interfacing with external and internal stakeholders driving technology and public policy related initiatives for Microsoft.

A man of varied talents, Sekhar speaks over 7 languages, has an Engineering Degree from Birla Institute of Technology, a Degree in Law, an interpreter degree in Mandarin, a PG Diploma in Operations Management and a PG Diploma in Cyber Law. He has travelled widely to over 50 countries. His interests include reading non-fiction, wildlife, ethnology and strategic affairs.
