Dr. Sumit D Chowdhury

Speaker Bio

Dr. Sumit D Chowdhury, President of Reliance Jio and author of bestselling career management book 'Rules of the Game', has a diversified business leadership career spanning multi-national companies in US, Australia and India where he had led large professional services teams and telecommunications companies.

He is working on creating a Smart City Information Grid (GAIA) that spans both the Network and Information Technology solutions that enable the creation and efficient operation of an intelligent Smart City. He is often called to speak and consult on Industrial Process Automation, telecom networks and internet/digital solutions, the essential ingredients of Smart Cities.

He has previously worked with IBM, Reliance ADAG, BearingPoint, and was a Partner with KPMG. He graduated from IIT Kanpur and got an MS and Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University. Apart from work, he is passionate about music, marathons, modern art, mentoring and brings it all together with his motivational public speaking that is managed by The Outstanding Speakers Bureau. He is also an angel investor in several startup companies and was part of Mumbai Angels.
